Join Rubin Observatory’s 3200-Megapixel Group Photo!
What is the 3200-megapixel group photo?
We’re creating a giant community group selfie in the shape of the LSST Camera’s 3200-megapixel focal plane — and it won’t be complete without YOU!
Why participate?
In March 2025, the LSST Camera — the world’s largest digital camera — was installed at Rubin Observatory. With this final piece of the optical system in place, we’ve entered the last phase of testing before capturing and sharing our very first images with the world. It’s time to celebrate — and get excited! Rubin’s First Look imagery is almost here.
